INTRODUCTION OF MONOPOLY BID

In 2001, Hasbro expanded upon the Monopoly property with a little card game called Monopoly Deal.  This game was Hasbro’s attempt at capturing the essence of Monopoly in card game form, and it did quite well.  In fact, the game is still available on the shelves 19 years later far surpassing the average shelf life of games.

Riding that wave of success, Hasbro has published a brand new entry for the Monopoly property in 2020 called, Monopoly Bid.  For this game, Hasbro places all of the focus on the auction, and it makes for a very exciting and fast paced game.

MATERIALS

To play Monopoly Bid, you will need the game and a space to play.  The game does not take much room, only requiring space for the draw and discard piles and player’s property sets.  The game includes the following:  안전놀이터

MONEY CARDS

There are fifty money cards in this game with values ranging  from 1 – 5.

ACTION CARDS

There are thirty two action cards in this game.  Wild cards count as any property the player needs it to be.  A property set must have at least one actual property in it.  A set cannot contain all Wilds.

The Draw 2 card allows the Auction Host to draw an additional two cards during their turn.

The Steal card allows the Host to steal a property from an opponent.

The Nope card can be played at any time, and it cancels an action card played by an opponent.  For example, if the Host plays a Steal card, any opponent at the table may stop the action by playing a Nope card.  A Nope card can also be canceled by another Nope card.  All action cards played are discarded once the turn has resolved.

PROPERTY CARDS

There are 28 property cards in this game.  Set requirements vary based on the property set.  Each property card has a number in the corner that tells the player how many cards are in that set.  There are property sets of 2, 3, and the railroad set requires 4.

Property sets can be broken up with the use of Wilds.  For example, if Player 1 has 2 Railroads and 2 Wilds, Player 2 may also have 2 Railroads and 2 Wilds.
