SETUP AND BIDDING

For three-player games, you will take out of the deck the two blank cards. these are only used for 2 and 4 player games. The first dealer is chosen randomly and passes to the left for each new deal. The dealer will shuffle the deck and deal out hands evenly to all players.

Then a round of bidding starts. the remaining players make bids for the dealer who may accept the highest bid or reject it. If the dealer accepts it the player who made the bid will call trumps, and the dealer must score the bid amount of points in the round in order to score at all. If the dealer rejects the bid, then the dealer will be able to score nothing for the round but may call trumps.

Card Ranking

The deck consists of four suits depicted as different cities. Each suit has 7 cards to it. There is also the Lost Heir card, the Wrong Boy card, and the two blank city cards.

The cards in each suit rank Mayor (high), Chief of Police, Commissioner, Detective, Captian, Sergeant, and policeman (low). The Lost Heir is the highest-ranking trump card, and the Wrong Boy is the lowest ranking trump card. the two blank cards have no suit or rank, and can only be played as a discard when a player cannot follow suit.

GAMEPLAY

The player left of the dealer starts the game and may play any card to lead the trick. The following players must follow suit if able, but if they cannot, they may play any card they wish to the trick, including trumps and blank cards.

The trick is won by the highest trump played, if applicable. If not, then it is won by the highest card of the suit lead. The winner of the trick collects it and all card and leads the next trick.

If playing with blank cards, they can only be played as a discard when you cannot follow suit, they do however have a special rule used for them. If played in the same trick as the Lost Heir or Wrong Boy, it cancels either out in the scoring.

SCORING

After all tricks have been won in the round, the players score their tricks. each trick is worth 1 point, 5 points for the Lost Heir, and negative 3 points for the Wrong Boy.

If the dealer did not succeed in scoring as many points as the bid was for, they will score no points.

END OF GAME

The game ends when a team or player scores the needed number of points to win. This team or player is the winner.
