INTRODUCTION OF NUT

Nut is an abstract strategy card game in which players are trying to arrange clusters of colored nuts.  On each turn, players will draft cards from a set of columns and build out their own personal layout of nuts.

MATERIALS

Nut uses a 30 card deck.  There are 20 standard cards that have a variety of colored nuts on them.  There are 6 squirrel cards that will allow for bonuses during play.  There are also 4 wild nut cards that can be used to represent any color.

SETUP

The dealer shuffles all 30 cards and creates three columns of cards equal to the number of players face up.  They keep the rest of the deck face down in front of themselves.

THE PLAY

During play, each person will be drafting cards from the dealt columns and creating a personal layout in front of them.  The goal is to create colored nut clusters within the layout.  Same-colored nuts that are arranged vertically or horizontally will earn points.

Player turns will pass left and the deck of cards will pass as well.  The player who is taking their turn will have the deck.  They begin their turn by dealing enough cards to complete any incomplete columns in the center of the table.  Then, they choose one card from one of the columns to add to their layout.  After they do so, the next player chooses one of the remaining cards in the same column.  They add that card to their layout.  Once each player has gone, the deck passes left.  The next player then replenishes the column cards and takes their turn.

PLACING CARDS

Each card has two lines to help players line up their layout correctly.  When cards are placed, tree sides must touch each other.  Sky sides must touch each other.  Lines on the cards must line up with another line or with the top/bottom edge of a card.  Cards cannot be placed horizontally.  Squirrel cards must be placed with the squirrel right side up and facing the player.  Players may cover other cards as much as desired.  This means that an entire card can be covered up if needed.  A player may have as many trees as they wish.    After cards are placed, they cannot be moved.

ENDING THE GAME

The game ends once every card has been drafted and placed in a layout. 카지노슬롯

SCORING

Players count up points earned for the largest cluster in each color.  So, if a player has more than one cluster in a certain color, they must count the largest one only. Squirrels have no value but they double the value of clusters they are attached to.  A squirrel can connect to smaller same-colored clusters in order to create one large cluster.  Wild nuts also have no value on their own, but they can be counted with any cluster they are attached (even more than one at a time).  A cluster can contain a single nut.

Each nut in a cluster is worth 1 point.  Squirrels double the total value of a cluster.

WINNING

The player with the most points wins.  If tied, the player with the largest nut cluster wins.
